A Radio Interferometer for use with very Long Baselines

Abstract
This paper describes the apparatus which has been developed for interferometric observations of radio sources with baselines up to 61 100 λ at a frequency of 158 Mc/s. This involved aerial separations of 70 miles and a description is given of the techniques which were used to surmount the difficulties introduced at these long baselines.
