Abstract
The design concepts and languages of a geographic information system ATLAS ( A dministration and T otal L anduse A nalysis S upport system) are proposed. The database structure is designed based on the geographic information structure concepts which contain semantic structure, topological structure and location structure. For a flexible user interface, the system provides two languages) IGL ( I nteractive G eographic L anguage) and GDDL ( G eographic D ata D efinition L anguage), whose functions are designed based on the geographic information structure concepts. IGL is an interactive end user language, which facilitates information retrieval under geographic and/or statistic conditions and thematic map production. GDDL is a language for a system manager who constructs and maintains the database. Keywords
