Abstract
This is the 51st annual report of the British Trust for Ornithology's Ringing Scheme. More birds were ringed in Britain and Ireland during 1987 than in any previous year. The report summarises the numbers of birds ringed during 1987 and the recoveries reported during the year. The main factors which have influenced the BTO Ringing Scheme, and its results, during 1987 are outlined. Details of some of the more unusual recovery records are presented. Keywords
