REDISCOVERY OF BACILLUS BADIUS BATCHELOR

Abstract
B. badius was isolated from macerated figs which had been plated on S. S. agar plates. This organism had previously been isolated by Batchelor (Jour. Bact. 423-34. 1919). Studies by others and by N. R. Smith show that this organism is a new species of bacillus but is not intermediate between groups 1 and 2 on the basis of growth characteristics in physiology.
