Abstract
Lithium‐nickel(0) system often prove surprising: thus (COD)2Ni and Li react together in tetrahydrofuran to give (COD)2NiLi2(THF)4, which can be reduced by H2 under normal pressure to form the new “lithium hydride” (1). Unlike LiH, (1) adds to CC double bonds; it forms C2H5Li with ethylene. equation imageKeywords
