Abstract
Trident production (production of a charged lepton pair by a charged lepton incident on a nuclear target) is discussed in the approximation of vanishing lepton mass. A compact formula is given for the trident differential cross section, valid for complex nuclear targets, taking into account nuclear recoil and inelasticities. The elastic, no-recoil approximation is also discussed. Keywords
