Abstract
To the editor: Lymphomatoid granulomatosis, as described by Liebow and colleagues in 1972 (1), is a disease of unknown cause characterized by multiple organ infiltration with an angiocentric and angiodestructive polymorphic infiltrate of atypical histiocytes and lymphocytes. The disease primarily involves the lungs, but several other organs can also be affected. Although the cause and pathogenesis are unknown, some cases have been reported in which impairment of cellular immunity might have been implicated. We describe the case of a patient with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in whom an histologic diagnosis of lymphomatoid granulomatosis was made. A 26-year-old male intravenousKeywords
