Anisotropy in the Landau Fermi-Liquid Parameters for the Alkalis

Abstract
The electron–phonon interaction makes a significant contribution to the Landau Fermi-liquid parameters. Since the phonon spectrum in the alkalis is anisotropic, the Fermi-liquid parameters should also exhibit anisotropy. We have calculated this effect and find it particularly significant for the higher moments of the quasiparticle scattering function. In the computations, the electron–ion pseudopotential developed by Hayman and Carbotte is employed since it is known to give a good fit to the resistivity data. For comparison, some calculations were also done with the Shaw form factors. The phonons were derived from a set of Born–von Kármán force constants.
