Abstract
The triboluminescence spectrum of optical fibers contains two prominent peaks, one at 430 nm and the other at 630 nm. The relative intensities vary with fiber type. The time dependence of the emission is related to the crack rate terminal velocity and to the creation and annihilation of moving cracks. Keywords
