Crystal aggregates with induced morphologies grown by silica gel technique

Abstract
This paper deals with the genetic mechanism of the morphologies present in BaCO₃and CaCO₃ grown by silica gel technique at basic pH. Our results show that a siliceous matrix acting as support induces the whole morphology of the aggregate. Earlier, the existence of such a membrane was inferred from physico-chemical conditions required by the growth technique. In the present research, the experimental proof of its existence is given, as well as the logical arguments required.
