Abstract
We study the scattering of electrons from the phase oscillations of an incommensurate charge-density wave in a quasi-one-dimensional system using an electron-phason matrix element derived from a tight-binding model. Using parameters suitable for the family of tetrathiofulvalene-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TTF-TCNQ), we find that the relaxation time for phason scattering is much smaller than that for phonon scattering unless the phason velocity is considerably higher than the phonon velocity. Keywords
