Abstract
By means of far-infrared reflection techniques we have observed, in the mixed crystal system SbSBr1-xIx, “one mode” behavior for the polar and non-polar phase. At room temperature, the substitution of Br by I leads to a softening of the lowest Au(TO) mode. In addition it was possible, in the case x = 0.25, to follow the soft mode through the paraelectric-ferroelectric phase transition. Keywords
