Abstract
Successful tagging and tracing experiments have been carried out, using an aerosol of fluorescent pigment and exploring the aerosol “plumes” with an airplane carrying continuously‐operating impaction equipment. Particles collected were identified and counted under the microscope, using ultraviolet illumination. Analysis of the data has yielded information on plume widths and concentrations up to 107 mi from the dispersal point. Keywords
