Abstract
The freezing point of copper has been determined using the NPL photon-counting pyrometer. Measurements made on two high-purity ingots at four wavelengths from 660 nm to 812 nm gave a value for the freezing point of 1358.02K (1084.87 degrees C), with an overall uncertainty at the 99% confidence level of +or-0.04K.Keywords
