Abstract
This paper describes polarization independent wavelength conversion, utilizing fiber four-wave mixing. By using two orthogonal pump lights having different frequencies, the baseband signal of the wavelength converted light is insensitive to the polarization state of the original signal light. Experiments that include bit error measurements confirm the polarization independent operation.<>Keywords
