Comment on Burnout

Abstract
The "quote attributed to Hillel" (Pediatrics 65:1161, 1980) is an incorrect translation from the Hebrew. The quote (p 1163) should read: "He used to say; if I am not for myself, who will be for me? And if I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?" The saying is customarily used to encourage consideration of others. Implementing the individual and organizational strategies recommended by Marshall and Kasman should help personnel develop a desirable "detached concern."1
