Abstract

The angular correlations and the direction-polarization correlations of

γ

rays of

{Ce}^{140}

and

{Sr}^{88}

have been measured. Spins and parities have been assigned to the excited states of these nuclei as follows.

{Ce}^{140}

: 2.42 Mev,

3^{-}

; 2.09 Mev,

4^{+}

; 1.60 Mev,

2^{+}

.

{Sr}^{88}

: 2.78 Mev,

3^{-}

; 1.87 Mev,

2^{+}
