Abstract
A method for using sum rules in estimating the radiative corrections to the ground states of atoms and molecules is presented and applied to the ground states of hydrogen, helium, and lithium atoms, and the hydrogen molecule. The method appears capable of yielding energy shifts to accuracies of a few percent. Keywords
