Abstract
The effect of diaphragmatic attenuation on 231Ti images of the heart was studied by intermittent recording with patients in inspiration and expiration. These studies suggest that the commonly observed posteroinferior defects in the left lateral projection can be explained by this mechanism. Possible effects on the anterior view are also suggested. Keywords
