Abstract
Chlorella vulgaris cells take up hexoses by a proton cotransport system. Depending of the pH of the medium either a high- or a low-affinity uptake system or both these systems can be observed. In the latter case the cells exhibit distinct biphasic uptake kinetics. Keywords
