Abstract
Cochlea Implantation is an accepted treatment for children and adults with profound sensorineural deafness. In rare cases postoperative complications may occur so that removal of the implant is unavoidable. In a particular case we present and discuss the case of a 69-year-old patient. After removal of a cochlear implant, the electronic array is frequently left in the cochlea as a temporary replacement. This is a common practice, but whether it is advisable should be verified according to the specific intraoperative situation. Keywords
