Abstract
A new species of Dermea is described. The fungus was associated with extensive damage to young Douglas fir (P seudotsuga menziesii) following severe early frosts in the Cariboo Region of British Columbia. Inoculation tests proved the fungus was capable of invading bark wounds and causing necrosis. Life history and cultural characteristics of the fungus are presented. The development of the disease is described and discussed. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
