Abstract
A method is described for the extraction and purification of chlorophyll a and b. Eight gm. of chlorophyll may be obtained from each kgm. of dry nettle leaves. By using the acetone method carotinoids were removed to a greater extent and the chlorophyll obtained was purer than with the ether method. Chlorophyll preparations yielded 3.98% of ash. Two samples of the ash were analyzed and found to contain 92 and 100% MgO.[long dash]F. M. Schertz. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
