Über Perfringens-Clostridien als Bestandteil der normalen, fäkalen Bakterienflora beim Menschen

Abstract
One hundred and eleven strains of Clostridium perfringens were isolated from 119 stool samples of patients whose illness was unrelated to these microorganisms. Morphologic, fermentative, pathogenic, biological and serological properties of the strains were tested, including thermoresistance of spores, and their relative frequencies determined. Serologically the Cl. perfringens strains isolated were not uniform. Thirty-seven strains were only agglutinated by the homologous serum. Highly thermoresistant strains could not be differentiated from weakly thermoresistant ones by agglutination.
