Abstract
A closed form for the static dielectric function of a relativistic degenerate electron gas is given on the basis of Chin's (1977) divergence-free formalism. An expression is derived for the electronic stopping power. The generalised Friedel amplitude is also discussed. A comparison with classical results is made. Keywords
