Abstract
We have measured the photoionization of atomic potassium in the vicinity of the minimum in the cross section. We have bypassed the problem of molecular photoionization, which may have distorted previous results, using a simple, generally applicable, time-of-flight technique. The results are now in qualitative agreement with theoretical predictions. Keywords
