Theory of Self-Pinching of an Electron-Hole Plasma

Abstract
The dynamic behavior of an electron-hole plasma undergoing pinching is discussed under the assumption that the compression heats the plasma with little energy loss to the lattice. Calculated pinch-times are in good agreement with observations at low and intermediate currents.Keywords
