Long-wavelength single-mode WDM for CATV applications

Abstract

A two ‘colour’ wavelength-division-multiplexing system based on GRIN rod lenses and interference filters and operating at λ = 1.2 μm and 1.3 μm has been developed for use with single-mode fibre, and exhibits a single-mode MUX loss of −1.4±0.2 dB.
