Abstract
Malaria parasites (Plasmodium knowlesi) contain a pigment which yields hemin crystals and reduced pyridine hemochromogen. When the pigment is extracted from the parasites under conditions which do not affect the spectral characteristics of Hb, it is identifiable spectrophotometrically as ferrihemic acid (hematin). This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
