Abstract
Two methods are described for rearing Pectinophora gossypiella in the laboratory. Larvae were reared aseptically on immature peas and sprouted peas or beans sterilized by autoclaving. Sprouted cottonseed coated with an aqueous solution of Butoben and methylcellulose were used in the other method under non-aseptic conditions. As many as 57 larvae were reared together in spite of their cannibalistic habits in containers of 500-ml capacity. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
