Abstract
A simple preparation of dichlorotetrakis(dimethyl sulphoxide)ruthenium(II) is given. The i.r. and 1H n.m.r. spectra of the complex suggest there are mixed sulphur and oxygen co-ordination sites. The complex is a useful starting material for other ruthenium(II) complexes. Keywords
