Abstract
Specific heats have been measured in three alpha phase alloys having the FCC structure, and eight zeta phase alloys having the HCP structure. Electron-phonon enhancement factors for the zeta phase alloys have been estimated from the McMillan formula, using the Debye temperature and the superconducting temperature. It is suggested that the behaviour of the electronic specific heat in the zeta phase, near electron concentration of 1.6, is consistent with the existence of contacts between the Fermi surface and the (10.1) Brillouin zone planes, and with overlaps into the next zone across the (00.2) zone planes. Keywords
