Studies on Abh-Like Antigens and “O-Cell Agglutinins” in Cattle, Sheep, Goat and Buffalo

Abstract
Summary: New data are given on the occurrence of A-like, B-like and H-like antigens on the red cells and corresponding agglutinins in the serum of cattle, sheep, goats and buffalo. Many of the animal sera were found to contain agglutinins relatively specific for human A, B and H antigens. Agglutinins reacting more strongly with O cells were studied in some detail. They could always be classified by the inhibition test with human saliva into anti-H and “anti-O.” The significance of the results is discussed.Keywords
