Abstract
The leaves in a citrus iootstock trial of old clone and nucellar Shamouti, Valencia, Washington Navel and Marsh grapefruit varieties on six different rootstocks were analysed for N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Na. The results showed significantly lower N and ऩ levels, and a higher Mg level, in grapefruit leaves than in orange leaves. Within the orange group, Valencia had significantly lower K and ऩ levels and a higher Ca level, and Washington Navel leaves had significantly lower Mg and higher Na levels, than the leaves of other varieties. Sour orange rootstock induced low ऩ and K and high Ca levels; rough lemon induced a low Mg level in all the scions tested. Some differences were observed between old clone and nucellar-type varieties budded on the same rootstock. N, Ca, K and Na tended to be lower, and Mg higher, in the nucellar trees. Keywords
