Inhibition by Pig Hypothalamic Extracts of Depletion of Pituitary Prolactin in Rats Following Cervical Stimulation

Abstract
A single intraperitoneal injection of pig hypothalamic extract inhibited the depletion of pituitary content of prolactin normally induced by glass rod stimulation of the cervix of rats during estrus. The data provide in vivo evidence for the presence of a prolactin inhibiting factor in the pig hypothalamic extract.
