Interference between Allowed and Forbidden Raman Scattering by Longitudinal-Optical Phonons in GaAs

Abstract
The amplitudes for the allowed and the forbidden (intraband Frölich) scattering by LO phonons are shown to interfere near resonances. This fact is illustrated with measurements on a (100) surface near the gap of GaAs.
