Abstract
Extensive amino acid sequence homology was found between 9 tryptic peptides of pig heart lipoamide dehydrogenase and the sequence of human erythrocyte glutathione reductase. The average homology is 40%. Six lipoamide dehydrogenase peptides are homologous with segments of the 2 parts of the FAD domain of glutathione reductase, 1 with the NADPH domain, and 2 with the interface domain.
