Abstract
Many editors of professional publications are overwhelmed by the number of manuscripts they receive each month. With rejection rates of near 90% for many periodicals, the need arises for an alternative to the present process of submission and rejection. Based on the personal experiences of the author, this article addresses the various ways a query letter may be used to make the process less frustrating for both writers and editors. Keywords
