Abstract
To identify attitudes toward romantic behavior among college students and to construct an instrument which measures those attitudes two phases of a romantic attitude survey were administered in successive samples to a total of 787 college students. Three major dimensions of romantic love were identified as Traditional Romance, Sexual Behavior, and Routine Activities. Four additional, less stable factors also emerged but were absorbed by the three major factors in the cross-validation sample. The more salient indicaters of romance were found among Traditional Romance and Sexual Behavior factors. Keywords
