Abstract
Spontaneous rupture of a splenic artery aneurysm is a rare, usually catastrophic event complicating pregnancy. Among risk factors for splenic artery aneurysm in nonpregnant patients is portal hypertension. The 3rd case of rupture of splenic artery aneurysm in a patient with portal hypertension is reported. Previous reports are reviewed. In each of these cases the portal hypertension was due to hepatic cirrhosis. A previously unreported association between portal hypertension is pregnancy and rupture of a splenic artery aneurysm is presented. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
