Abstract
To the Editors: We would like to report a case of recovery from chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection that had developed after bone marrow transplantation. In February 1990, a 26 year-old-man was referred to us after receiving a bone marrow transplant from an anti-HBs- and anti-HBc-positive sister in August 1989. He developed rising alanine aminotransferase levels and became jaundiced with symptoms of acute hepatitis in May. He had not received a transfusion since September 1989.
