Abstract
Various fluids pass readily up the ureters into the fowl''s kidney and thence to the blood stream. Experiments show little selectivity in this absorption and also that even a short perfusion damages the kidney. This is taken as evidence against the normal occurrence of re-absorption. The fowl''s renal secretion pressure is probably 10-20 cm. of water. In a discussion of these and previous results Cushny''s theory is definitely abandoned in regard to the uric acid excretion by the bird, secretion being accepted.
