Abstract
We analyze recent experimental data on energy spectra and electromagnetic transition intensities of neutron-rich even Ru isotopes within the framework of the interacting boson model, taking into account both neutron and proton degrees of freedom. Signatures supporting an effective deformation different from zero in the mass region around are pointed out.
