Abstract
The article presents a case study of policy level decision-making. In November 1962, the U.S. Secretary of Defense awarded the TFX development contract to General Dynamics Corp. A discussion is presented about the decision-making process and standard source selection procedure followed by the United States Armed Forces. The decision was made immediately after a unanimous recommendation from top military officers, through a standard source selection procedure, to award the contract to Boeing Airplane Co.
