Abstract
Several cyclohexene compounds have been decomposed in a single‐pulse shock tube. Rate constants for the decyclization reactions C6H10(cyclohexene)→C2H4+C4H6,(1,3−butadiene)C7H12(4−methylcyclohexene)→C3H6+C4H6,(1,3−butadiene)C8H12(4−vinylcyclohexene)→2C4H6,(1,3−butadiene) are compared with the rate of dehydrochlorination of hydrogen chloride from isopropyl chloride. The Arrhenius expression for the latter reaction has previously been found to be k(i−C3H7Cl)=1013.64exp(−51 100/RT). On this basis, the following rate expressions have been obtained: k(C6H10)=1015.02exp(−66 700/RT)sec−1  (900−1150K),k(C7H12)=1015.13exp(−66 600/RT)sec−1  (900−1150K),k(C8H12)=1015.20exp(−62 000/RT)sec−1  (900−1050K).
