Abstract
The histochemical Ag reaction for ascorbic acid was subjected to a critical study by model expts. and by the use of tissues of known ascorbic acid content. While specificity of the reaction is reasonably good, unavoidable nonspecific Ag impregnation and gross diffusion artifacts render the test virtually useless for localization within the cell. Keywords
