Abstract
The changes produced by ethylene gas are solely those which would have been brought about by nature in a somewhat longer time. Impurities in ethylene amount to about 2%, consisting mostly of ethane and traces of CO2, propane, acetylene, and acetone, all of which are harmless to consumers in the dilutions in which they occur. The data indicate that vitamin C content of oranges is not affected by the ethylene treatment. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
