Combustion of Gas in a Two-Impinging Wall-Jets Combustor

Abstract
Gas combustion experiments, carried out in a Two-Impinging-Streams (TIS) reactor, revealed three separate and stable modes of operation, two of which exist when operating both with rich and lean mixtures of fuel and air, and one which is unique. A quantitative model based on the behaviour of the flame front in the fuel wall-jet generated in the reactor, permits evaluation of the conditions in which the different modes will appear. A second model is based on exothermic reactions in a mixed reactor.
