Abstract
The briefing starts by considering two major changes resulting from the electronic superhighway: streamlining of the distribution chain; and the emergence in the chain of powerful new players. It goes on to argue that travel agents and those involved in the distribution of travel products must embrace the new technologies if they are to survive and prosper, and to review several types of electronic distribution which are having or will have a major impact on the travel and tourism industry.Keywords
