Abstract
An MMPI scale has been developed for the purpose of evaluating the ability of individuals to resolve conflicts. As the preliminary step to deriving this scale an experiment was performed which involved the administration of a discrimination conflict to 494 subjects individually. Seventy-four of these subjects were selected as a high conflict group on the basis of low conflict resolution and eighty-six as a low conflict group according to their rapid performance in the experiment. Item analysis of the 550 items administered to these subjects prior to the experiment identified a set of 30 MMPI items, designated as the susceptibility to Conflict scale. Further investigations were made concerning the reliability and validity of this scale and its relationship to other MMPI scales. Keywords
